Great Lakes Suite

Wide Open Spaces

The Great Lakes Suite is a full three bedroom, two bathroom upstairs apartment with its own kitchen. It can accommodate up to seven guests with its four beds.

The master bedroom features a king bed with a Tempur-pedic mattress that guests have offered to buy from us because of how comfortable it is (true story). The other two bedrooms each have premium queen memory foam mattresses. There is also a twin bed with a Casper mattress in the “River Annex” room attached to the master.

Comfort and Style

Guests have private, exclusive access to the entire second floor unit of the house. The second floor has its own exterior entrance and is a completely independent from the rest of the Parker House.

We stock the kitchen with the cooking essentials as well as Detroit coffee and a selection of teas. Groove to your favorite tunes via a vinyl player in the living room that can also function as a bluetooth speaker. There is a TV in the living room, master suite, and one of the bedrooms. All three TVs have Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Video, Hulu, ESPN+, and Paramount+.

Chart Room

Inspired by and decorated with the nautical charts of the Great Lakes.

Stylishly Affordable

The Chart Room is so much more than just a private room. You also have the Parker House living room, dining room, and library that are only shared with Karen herself, who lives in a separate area in the back of the house.

Private bathroom just for you with strong water pressure and plenty of privacy. The bed is a queen, premium memory foam mattress with soft, crisp cotton linens.

So far every guest has given this room 5 stars and we hope you feel the same.

Gus Dorais Room

Tribute to the Detroit Lions and the City of Detroit.

Living History

Named in honor of Karen’s grandfather, Charles “Gus” Dorais, who was the Head Coach of the University of Detroit football team from 1925-1942 and the NFL’s Detroit Lions from 1943-1947. As a player, he was a quarterback for Notre Dame and, together with Knute Rockne, helped change the modern game of football through his use of the forward pass in an historic win over Army in 1913. Gus also served on the Detroit City Council and has a city park named in his honor.

This room is dedicated to him, to football, to the Detroit Lions, and to civic service. Any fan of the game will appreciate staying in this room adorned in history.

The queen bed features a premium memory foam mattress with fluffy pillows, crisp cotton sheets, and a soft down comforter. You also have your own private bathroom with strong water pressure. Enjoy all of the Parker House common areas—TV room, dining room, library—that you only share with Karen herself.
